Last Minute Paris

Paris is the City of Lights, and one of the most sought-after vacation spots around the globe. Because it’s such a chic, desirable location, it can also be very expensive to plan a last minute vacation there. However, if you’re savvy enough to take advantage of last minute vacation deals, then you can get to see all that Paris has to offer, for a mere pittance.

Budget Hotels in Paris FranceThere are an abundance of last minute flights Paris airlines advertise, and knowing how to take advantage of these is key to booking an inexpensive last minute Paris vacation. International air fare can be extremely expensive, especially from the U.S. or Canada to Europe. If you’ve spent time on Expedia Paris vacation hunting, then you know that waiting until two or three weeks prior to your departure date to book your vacation can end up saving you a ton of money. Cheap flights to Paris that airlines have available are usually only so inexpensive because it costs the airline the same amount of money to fly an empty plane as it does a full one. By making sure that all of their seats are booked, then they can recoup their expenses and turn a profit more easily than flying a plane with a few empty seats. This is especially true for flights that have a lot of stop-overs, or flights that leave at undesirable times of day. This is because those flights are more likely to have empty spots available, versus more popular flights.

The same thing is true for lastminute hotel deals Paris hotels don’t tell you about. A hotel has to spend the same amount of money whether they have all of their rooms booked or not, so it behooves them to fill as many spots as possible. By waiting until the last minute, you can get great last minute vacation deals on your accommodations. This is true whether you’re looking at last minute apartments Paris landlords have available, or just a hotel room for a few nights. In either case, the hotel or apartment owner stands to lose more by letting their property stay vacant, so they are often willing to cut you a deal so that they can have someone, anyone, renting their space. This is what makes cheap holidays Paris so easy to find.

Another facet of getting last minute Paris holidays is waiting until the main vacation season is over. Most people in the Northern hemisphere wait until summer to take their holidays, or go during Christmas, New Year’s, and the like. By waiting until the off season to go to Paris, you can take advantage of flights and hotels that are discounted to help encourage travelers to keep visiting during the slow season.

Taking a sightseeing boat tour on the Seine on your first day in Paris is probably the best thing that you can do to kick off your Paris adventure. The Parisians are treating the Seine River almost like an avenue, and rightly so. The main city attractions are sprinkled on both sides of it, and you will be able to see most of them from the  River. Remember, the way you see the monuments and bridges from the water, you would never be able to see them from land. The city looks absolutely spectacular and magnificent from water, particularly at night. Begin your first day in Paris with the boat tour on the Seine, or better yet, finish it with it.

Last Minute Paris8. The Orsay Museum – Price: Adults: €8.00
Desinged originally as a train station back in 1900, it became clear in the 1950′s that the old platforms were way too short for the modern-day trains. Therefore, the building was transformed first into a theatre, and then, in the 1970′s into an arts museum. The art collection displayed at the Orsay Museum is dedicated to the period from 1848 to 1915. If you are a big fan of the Impressionism, then that’s where you will find the masterpieces of such artists as van Gogh, Sisley, Renoir, Monet, Cézanne, Guaguin, Manet, and Delacroix. At Last Minute Vacation Deals we totally recommend visiting this museum, and not only because of its art collection, but also because the building itself is a work of art. Located near the Tuileries gardens, the last minute Paris travelers should not miss this architectural wonder.

Last Minute Paris10. The Palace of Versailles – Price: Adults: €20.00
When planning last minute vacations in Paris, it’s easy to become overwhelmed with all the information you need to absorb before and during your visit. We have listed the Palace of Versailles last on our list, knowing that you probably won’t have time to visit all ten attractions recommended here, particularly if it’s a short stay. However, many people would say that it’s a must-see, and it’s difficult to disagree with that. The Palace of Versailles is by far one of the biggest and most magnificent palaces in the world. Do you like the stats? There you go: 67 staircases, 1,252 fireplaces, and 2,143 windows.

The residence of King Louis XV1, it became a synonym of decadence, and is also known as the place where the citizens of Paris stood against their king, forcing the royal family to move back to Paris.
There’s no shortage of gardens and groves around the Palace filled with gorgeous fountains and sculptures.

I didn’t get to visit it until my second time in Paris, simply because, no matter how much I tried to plan my last minute vacations in Paris, I couldn’t fit it into my first 5-day last minute trip to Paris. It’s totally worth it, particularly if you are a big fan of the 18th century architecture.

When you are looking for last minute vacation deals, particularly when you are planning a last minute Paris trip, you are probably trying to save some money. Assuming you have alreadyLast Minute Travel To Paris - view of Eiffel Tower arranged for the last minute plane ticket and hotel accommodation, the sightseeing expenses would be the next biggest cost on your last minute vacations list. Is there any way a last minute Paris traveler can save on all the museums, bus tours and public transportation?  The answer is Yes, it’s quite possible with the Paris Pass.  Designed to provide you with everything you need to explore the city, you will get access to over 55 Paris monuments and museums, other attractions such as a Seine River Cruise or  Les Cars Rouge bus tour, not to mention Paris Visite Pass that will give you access to the Parisian metro, buses, and RER.

Now, I only recommend the Paris Pass if you were to visit all ten sightseeing attractions listed above. For instance, it will cost you €149.00 to visit all ten. A 4-day Paris Pass for 1 adult costs €149.00. Doesn’t sound like you are saving a lot, I know. But remember, you can visit as many attraction as you want. So, if you were to see at least 10 or more in 4 days, then it totally would make sense to buy it.

I did not buy it on my first visit to Paris, but I only stayed there for 5 days back then, and I only did one attraction a day. On my second visit to Paris, though (8-days in total), I bought a 4-day Paris Pass and used it for 12 sightseeing tours. One of the biggest savings with Paris Pass was on the transportation – for instance, a metro Pass for two days is around €14.00, but free with Paris Pass.

So, it all depends on how active you are planning to be. If you are planning to see at least 10 places, then definitely go for it; less than that – don’t bother.
